Washington, D.C., The Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA), a Washington, DC-based trade association representing railroad maintenance suppliers, is seeking a Trade Show & Marketing Manager to join its team.
The objective of this position is to be the lead on the association’s trade show and marketing efforts. A successful candidate will be responsible for social media content/activity, marketing plans, membership interaction, and website management. The candidate will also represent REMSA in joint projects, conferences and other industry events. Candidate will be expected to travel on occasion for industry conferences, events and board meetings; roughly 6-8 business trips per year on average.
An interest in rail transportation issues is preferred and an ability to quickly become familiar with the railroad industry is expected. This position requires good public presentation and writing skills. Proficiency with the basic Microsoft Office suite is expected.
Communication with membership and exhibitors
Execute annual membership renewal program
Manage website and social media presence
Coordinate webinars with industry partners
Assist in annual trade show planning
Marketing and selling exhibit space
Working with decorator to develop floor plan
On-site support and execution
Quarterly reporting to Board of Directors
Work travel is required to various industry conferences throughout the year and quarterly board meetings (roughly 6-8 trips per year).

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution
2-4 years of relevant professional experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Previous experience in trade show or association environment
Interest in rail transportation
Proficient in design programs, such as Adobe, Canva, etc.
Salary commensurate with experience
