Canada Pension Plan Investment Board
About the Company
The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) puts retirees’ dollars back to work. The board manages more than C$260 billion of the Canada Pension Plan, the retirement savings of more than 18 million Canadians. CPPIB maintains a diverse portfolio of low-risk, long-term investments in public and private companies, fixed-income instruments such as bonds and money-market securities, and inflation-sensitive assets such as real estate and infrastructure. The group has offices in about half a dozen countries. CPPIB Investment Board was created in 1997, more than 30 years after the Canada Pension Plan was established.
