Alexandria, Virginia, The TRSA Vice President, Marketing Communications is responsible for all digital and print communications including promoting membership, certifications, and virtual and in-person events. The Vice President, Marketing Communications provides leadership and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders on the strategic planning and implementation of communications and marketing campaigns.
The Vice President, Marketing Communications will be engaged in advocacy initiatives to promote, expand and protect the linen, uniform and facility services industry by highlighting its inherent sustainability through its commitment to circular economy through reuse, repair, repurpose and recycle, as well as safety, hygiene and environmental stewardship with legislators, regulators and other audiences.
Key Responsibilities
The Vice President, Marketing Communications reports directly to the President and CEO and serves as a key member of the Senior Management Team. The successful candidate will have demonstrated leading a marketing communications team in the association, government, or corporate sector.
Develop strategic marketing communications plans and direct the implementation of these plans with responsibility for results such as registrations and engagement.
Direct the marketing and promotion of TRSA membership, certifications and non-dues revenue initiatives including in-person and virtual events.
Support TRSA’s strategic priorities through messaging and outreach campaigns that advance legislative strategies by educating federal and state officials, legislators, regulators, and staff.
Oversee executive communications as needed in the development of speeches, talking points, and presentations for staff and volunteer leaders.
Work closely with the TRSA President and CEO to ensure the highest level of responsiveness and operational excellence in meeting and anticipating the needs of the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, volunteer leaders, networks/committees, member companies and other stakeholders.
Direct all promotional tactics including message and content, design, production, and distribution.
Direct the writing, editing, design, production and scheduling of print/digital magazines, newsletters and promotional materials and online content.
Collaborate in the development of a digital communications strategy to include multi-channel communications (e.g., e-marketing, videos, podcasts, and social media) including print and digital advertising copy, design, and placement, as well as earned media.
Direct the maintenance and updating of the TRSA website and other organization sites including Hygienically Clean and Laundry Services.
Manage external advertising and sponsorship sales including planning and implementation.
Manage five team members – Director, Marketing; Marketing Manager; and Marketing Coordinator; and Senior Editor and Director; Content Management; as well as external sales associates and consultants.
Job Location
This position is based in Alexandria, VA and the team members work in the office three days a week at minimum including mandatory office work on Mondays and Thursdays.

10+ years of experience in marketing and communications including planning and implementation.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or relevant study.
5+ years of managerial experience including overseeing direct reports.
Trade association or corporate communications experience preferred.
Ability to address legislative, regulatory, and NGO scrutiny while developing a positive profile.
Ability to develop salient, meaningful, and technically accurate content through both a collaborative and self-directed manner.
Ability to collaborate with key internal contacts and constituents.
Experience tying marketing and communications plans and tactics to key metrics.
