We are seeking a Senior Marketing Manager. This position works closely with the Vice President of Marketing and Communications to create and execute marketing plans to support the Grand Rapids Symphony’s annual ticket sales goals. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, you’ll be the direct supervisor to the Digital Marketing Manager and the Graphic Designer,  be the driving force in all marketing initiatives from planning to implementation. You’ll work on season subscription and single tickets campaigns, digital and email marketing, digital media creation, planning and implementing customer experience, retention and frequency programs, event planning, media planning, buying, and trafficking, and more.  The position is salaried with accompanying benefits. 

To assist the VP of Marketing & Communications with subscription and single ticket campaign plans, timelines, offers, etc., continually adjusting to market response—placing specific focus on growing our subscriber and single tickets base
Coordinate the creation, routing, editing and distribution of marketing materials
Create and be the keeper of a marketing master calendar, where you will oversee direct mail, print advertising, radio, TV, patron retention and loyalty, patron experience and relationship management efforts, digital and email advertising, marketing research, and more!
Manage third-party partners as they operate our Google Adwords account, and other digital advertising platforms
Attend events and concerts as the marketing front of house manager
Performs other duties as assigned by management
Full COVID-19 vaccination required

BA/BS degree with a focus in marketing, communications, or equivalent experience
Be a master project manager
Knowledge and/or appreciation of classical music and performing arts preferred
Must demonstrate an ability to prioritize and work well under pressure, multi-task, remain highly organized and exhibit attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with varying personalities in an interdepartmental team environment
Positive attitude and a team-player approach
Ability to take and adapt to constructive criticism
Strong writing skills
Understanding of print production, direct mail best practices, and current design techniques
Experience in HTML, Flash and electronic communication preferred
Experience or familiarity with web content management systems
Experience or familiarity with video shooting and editing preferred (specifically Final Cut Pro)
Understanding Google AdWords and Google Analytics preferred
Preferred—experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat.) and Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
