UW Medicine Strategic Marketing & Communications (SMC) has an outstanding opportunity for a Recruitment Marketing Specialist to join their team. POSITION PURPOSE The Recruitment Marketing Specialist is a key member of the UW Medicine Strategic Marketing & Communications (SMC) team responsible for supporting UW Medicine’s talent acquisition efforts. The Recruitment Marketing Specialist consistently engages with hiring teams and others around the organization to drive and execute candidate/recruiting marketing campaigns, including strategy, content creation and delivery, and measurement. The Recruitment Marketing Specialist ensures a positive employer brand reputation in the marketplace through paid media campaigns, social media, community events, and an enhanced careers website experience. This position reports into the Senior Director of Marketing and is responsible for developing structured, employee recruiting campaigns. COMPLEXITIES AND IMPACT TO THE UNIVERSITY This position requires a resolute and curious thinker and strong writer who can seek new ways to innovate, develop and evolve marketing campaigns that recruit and retain employees. This position requires someone who can get under the hood and understand how things work, can think through a process flow from start to finish, develop strong creative, and drives to achieve high levels of marketing ROI. The Recruitment Marketing Specialist plays a pivotal role in positively impacting and recruiting employees into the UW Medicine system supporting all entities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Marketing strategy, planning and execution (60%) Lead UW Medicine’s overall employer brand efforts, working with internal hiring teams, SMC team members (marketing, communications, digital, social media and media relations), employer brand agency and external media buyer. Lead strategic planning, development, and execution of external employer brand campaigns. Develop program content elements, including messaging documents and creative briefs to be shared across SM&C and vendor teams, and to ensure consistent messaging at every touchpoint. Collaborate on content development (written, video, etc.) to be used in paid marketing campaigns, on the career’s website, and for social media channels. Develop and execute paid media strategy, optimizing campaigns as necessary. Provide marketing support for UW Medicine recruitment events. Ensure appropriate understanding of market challenges, success factors, and hiring priorities to inform all strategic marketing recruitment efforts. Stay up to date with hiring and market trends including new social platforms, marketing methods, and employment trends. Relationship Management (25%) Work with stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities, translating those priorities into marketing and communications strategies and initiatives. Collaborate with hiring teams, UW Medicine’s Office of Healthcare Equity and leadership to build a strategy for greater inclusion and representation in the workforce. Meet with clients on a regular basis to discuss recruiting priorities, needs, seasonal topics that impact campaign elements and review marketing performance. Measurement & Analytics (10%) Develop appropriate metrics to evaluate campaign success and generate reports to leadership. Uses internal and external resources to understand the impact of marketing programs on recruiting and hiring candidates. Conduct ongoing audit and reporting to internal and stakeholder audience (monthly and or quarterly). Challenge the status quo, champion change and influence others to change.  Maintain flexible viewpoints and positions that can change as additional information becomes available. Build recommendations to adjust resources and goals based on quantitative understanding of impact and learning from campaigns. Stay up to date with hiring and market trends including new social platforms, marketing methods, and employment trends. Administrative (5%) Manage recruitment campaign budget. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field and 3-4 years’ experience. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Professional demeanor. Strong time management and organizational skills while on tight deadlines and working on multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills. Strong relationship management skills. Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. Detail oriented with a strong ability to understand and communicate complicated concepts simply and clearly. Experience running medium to large scope projects with cross-over departments and teams. Strong time management, highly organized with strong project management skills, ability to cope with pressure, tight deadlines and multiple projects simultaneously. Adept at generating ideas and solving problems. Firm understanding of the user experience and experience developing content strategies within a brand framework. Experience with traditional, digital, and social media marketing. Comfortable in an academic environment where things do not move as quickly as you might prefer. DESIRED REQUIREMENTS Background in healthcare, medical education, or higher education. Public relations and/or brand marketing experience. Experience with analytics software such as Google Analytics. Photography and video skills are desirable.
