Chattanooga, Tennessee, Photographer/Videographer II (Communications & Marketing Associate 2 – MR0 6 ) Division of Communications and Marketing University of Tennessee, Chattanooga The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) Division of Communications and Marketing (UTCCM) seeks a talented and efficient Videographer/Photographer II (VP2) to help heighten the university’s messaging and branding through top-notch moving and still imagery. This visual storyteller will join the creative services team to concept, produce, shoot, edit, distribute, and archive video and still photography for the UTC community and partners. The VP2 produces content with the main priority of student recruitment. Reporting to the UTCCM video team lead, this position collaborates to develop concepts, scripts, and storyboards; then shoots, edits, and prepares assignments that support and enhance the branding, marketing, and editorial efforts of UTC. Internal and external audiences, all with some connection to the university, will include targeted, prospective, and enrolled students, alumni and donors, and a wide range of community partners. Assignments include developing content for social media, advertising, campaigns, UTC Campus News website, digital and print media, and event coverage. The VP2 will quickly and efficiently reformat content for various platforms as needed. This person in this position must work quickly and efficiently, as assignments require fast turnaround and may sometimes move from idea to completion in the same day. The ideal candidate will possess the following: Demonstrable knowledge of videography and photography standards, techniques, and formats Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud and related professional and amateur design software; experience with Office 365 products, cloud storage, file transfer systems, and video conferencing platforms Strong technical experience using, recommending, and maintaining related software and equipment: including cameras and lenses, lighting and audio, and computer hardware Strong editing and post-production abilities: including color correcting and adding graphics Proficiency in motion graphics Experience producing content for popular social media and other means of online distribution such as live streaming Strong, professional, and courteous communication skills and ability to articulate ideas, pitch and present content, and constructively receive and solicit positive and negative feedback; keen attention to detail and ability to work efficiently and effectively on concurring projects Time management skills, flexibility, and ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines Minimum of three strong years working successfully as part of a related team Experience managing video and photography storage and databases Commitment to supporting UTC and UTCCM inclusion and diversity strategies Willingness to obtain and maintain drone license, and operate drone Position is on-site with no remote option. Required Portfolios and Practical Demonstration: Demo reel including at least 10 pieces shot and edited within the last 2 years, demonstrating video shot for marketing, news/documentary, and social media purposes Online portfolio including at least 10 images demonstrating use of still photography within the last 2 years A competency exercise of shooting and editing is required of final candidates Review of applications will begin June 13, 2022 and continue until the position is filled. Minimum Qualifications: Typically requires a high school diploma and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Post-secondary course work in a field preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have a strong minimum of 4 years’ professional experience as a videographer working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced educational, agency, broadcast, or production environment. The candidate must possess the ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple simultaneous, deadline-driven projects in a fast-paced setting. Occasional work on nights and weekends is required.
