Athens, Ohio, Job Description: University Communications and Marketing ( UCM ) is looking for an organized individual to serve as its Marketing Services Coordinator. A capable self-starter, the Marketing Services Coordinator will be someone who is ready for the new challenges of the recently expanded UCM . Reorganization has swelled our department to over 50 individuals, and we need someone to assist in the intake, organization, and guidance of the myriad of projects our busy team undertakes. Reporting to the Marketing Services Manager, the Marketing Services Coordinator will serve as a backup to the manager as needed and seek to support the teams within UCM with project management, including the operation of Teamwork, our current project management software platform. The teams are Communication Services; Creative and Brand; Digital Content; Enterprise Marketing; Market Research and Media Planning; and Web Strategy. Knowledge of some or all of the content areas UCM covers is a plus, and includes writing, video, design, photography, web, marketing, and more. Primary Accountabilities: 1. Assisting UCM teams with project management via Teamwork, the current project management system. Project management duties will include assisting the project lead in assigning roles, tasks, and milestones within the Teamwork system and using those to keep the project on a dedicated timeline through regular communication with those involved. 2. Processing project requests submitted by the University community. Requests are processed by identifying/verifying team type, understanding the ask, and properly setting up an individualized project on Teamwork, which includes a specific categorization and tagging system. 3. Serving as the backup for the Marketing Services Manager as needed. Primary backup duties include but are not limited to organizing a project team (identifying/appointing correct UCM staff members; initiating and coordinating client communications; and facilitating kick-off meetings between UCM and clients. 4. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: At least an Associate’s Degree in a Marketing/Communications field, or related. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also satisfy the degree requirement. At least one (1) year of related work experience. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) that translate well in-person or digitally. Ability to effectively work under deadlines and manage time independently. Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a Marketing/Communications related field. Prior experience in project management is desirable, including an understanding of project management software (Teamwork or others).
