Lexington, Kentucky, Department Name: 8M000:College of Communication and Information Job Summary: The College of Communication and Information is looking for a dynamic, energetic Marketing and Promotions Specialist to develop communication materials and assist our Communication Manager with different college-wide initiatives. Preferred skills include excellent written and oral communication, video production and editing, project management, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people on different initiatives throughout the College. Other duties include: Write and edit feature articles for the College newsletters, magazines, and UKnow releases. Knowledge of AP Style preferred. Produce digital images to support written messages Collaborate with other units to ensure comprehensive approach Create high quality marketing materials that reach appropriate audiences in compliance with University and College marketing policies Work with leadership and staff to recognize communication opportunities and solutions Design and produce graphics/images, short videos, promotions, and general marketing activities Update College website by adding events, news stories, promotions when applicable A complete application packet will include a resume, cover letter, and a professional writing sample (attach as Specific Request 1). Skills /Knowledge/Abilities: Drupal experience, database software, graphic software programs, video editing software Position Time Status: Full-Time Required Education: BA Required Related Experience: 1 yr Required License/Registration/Certification : None. Preferred Education/Experience: Prefer applicant with prior experience writing and editing articles, press releases. Experience developing marketing materials, administering social media, video and graphics production, and editing.
