Washington, DC, The Marketing Manager serves as a key driver of brand awareness and member engagement, partnering closely with internal clients and cross-functional teams to develop and execute comprehensive, omni-channel marketing and communication strategies and campaigns in support of Bar programs, services, publications, events, and other initiatives. The Marketing Manager develops and leads the Bar’s email marketing strategic roadmap, a key component of the Bar’s marketing and communications strategy and driver of member engagement and revenue.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Serves as the primary strategic marketing advisor for internal clients, such as the Bar’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program, Pro Bono Center, membership, volunteer communities, publications, professional services, and events.
Develops and executes comprehensive annual marketing and communication strategies and tactical plans, including articulation of business cases and goals, audience segmentation, content and creative development, campaign management and optimization, day-to-day client service and support, and coordination with editorial, broadcast studio, and design teams on marketing deliverables.
Leads enterprise email marketing strategy, serving as the resident subject matter expert and overseeing the email channel roadmap.
Manages and maintains a holistic email marketing calendar and content strategy, ensuring balance, consistency, and quality across all campaigns.
Owns and executes email campaign needs, including creative, content development, optimizations, testing, and delivery.
Develops and executes advanced email segmentations, automations, dynamic content, and trigger campaigns to deliver highly targeted messaging based on member interest and preferences.
Manages and grows email lists with a focus on deliverability, data hygiene, and maximizing engagement.
Analyzes and interprets results from email marketing campaigns, shares findings to drive continuous improvement, and defines and reports on key email marketing KPIs.
Supports and grows sponsorship and sales opportunities in email channel.
Stays on top of email best practices and recommends new ideas to test and optimize campaigns.
Writes and edits compelling content for Bar channels, including DCBar.org, email blasts and newsletters, social media, video and multimedia production, and other marketing collateral.
Establishes and reinforces marketing processes and procedures, including the development of templates and best practices to drive enterprise-wide quality and consistency.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
Excellent digital marketing skills and broad marketing experience, including development and execution of effective strategies and supporting tactics to meet and exceed KPIs.
Demonstrated track record in enterprise-level email marketing strategy, including experience in email content, optimization, segmentation, and testing.
Project management experience with a proven track record of consistently delivering projects on time, within budget, and with a high level of quality.
Experience creating omni-channel engagement strategies and designing specific content strategies to meet business objectives.
Experience developing, analyzing, and reporting marketing KPIs and translating data into actionable insights.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be detail oriented and deadline driven. Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must work well in a team environment and be able to interact with Bar members, volunteers, vendors, the public, and Bar employees.
Must work well under pressure, possess excellent organizational abilities, and able to manage several priorities in a day.
Must be adaptable, creative, and self-motivated.
Experience with email marketing tools (Real Magnet, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar.)
Experience with CRM (Salesforce preferred), Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Google Analytics, other tracking tools, and social media and digital marketing platforms.
Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.

 
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.
Experience working in a non-profit/professional association and/or agency.
