Illinois, ALA Editions | ALA Neal-Schuman, the book publishing imprints of the American Library Association, seek a Marketing Manager to join a team that produces 40 to 50 professional development titles, textbooks, and other print and digital products a year. Reporting to the Publisher, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for: Developing and executing regularly updated strategic marketing plans for all titles including textbooks. Tracking, analyzing, and reporting on data and responses for marketing campaigns. Planning, strategizing, and executing general seasonal and audience- or topic-specific print and digital catalogs, email and social media marketing, postcards, and other campaigns. Recommending marketing tiers for new and backlist titles. Writing and/or reviewing marketing/advertising copy for each publication, including textbooks. Representing ALA Editions | ALA Neal-Schuman in both the eStore and conference stores and booths. Growing international sales through active solicitation and management of partnerships for translations, licensing, and distribution. Preparing and managing marketing budgets. This is a regular full-time position based in our Chicago office. ALA staff are currently working remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic. We will resume in-person work at ALA offices when it is safe to do so. Please note that although we have a generous telecommuting policy for our employees, we do not have any truly remote positions in states outside of our workplace sites. Starting Salary: Negotiable from the high-60s, based on relevant experience.
