As a member of the USC Gould School of Lawâ??s Communications Office, the Marketing and Branding Lead for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Programs will play a vital role in the success of our CLE department by leading various digital campaigns to promote conferences and grow the exposure of the programs. The Marketing and Branding Lead is responsible for a range of duties, including: day-to-day communications and marketing operations; visual branding and consistency; content development for web, social media, email, online and video projects; supporting staff leadership in the planning, executing, and tracking of promotional efforts; and supporting the administration of signature CLE programs, among other important roles. Successful candidates will be highly organized, detail oriented, deadline driven, able to balance short-term requests and ongoing projects, and able to think strategically and analytically to improve processes and develop solutions.  The Marketing and Branding Lead will report to the Director of Strategic Communications. Responsibilities Digital Communications and Marketing: Administers day-to-day communications/marketing operations to support CLE initiatives Supports staff leadership in the planning, executing, and tracking of promotional efforts such as targeted emails, event materials, social media, and ad campaigns Creates email marketing templates for CLE events and programs Manages website content Develops, produces, and distributes content calendar for various channels Coordinates and plans marketing campaigns, including copy, scheduling, and list management Monitors analytics for strategy effectiveness Researches competitive programs and industry-specific opportunities for program promotion to stay apprised of current trends to inform ongoing strategies Assists in the administration and forecasting of marketing budget, with staff leadership Visual Branding and Identity: Assesses content for appropriate use of official logos on CLE materials and partnersâ?? materials Monitors for consistency in brand identity and tone across all products, platforms, and channels Designs promotional graphics, marketing materials, and event flyers; experienced in graphic editing platforms Assists with photo/video editing process; familiar with video editing principles and platforms Identifies and organizes visual assets for project-based and departmental purposes Programmatic Support: Collaborates, manages, and maintains relationships with external partners and sponsors Provides event support for signature CLE programs Social Media: Creates content for day-to-day posting across channels, as well as targeted paid campaigns Coordinates comprehensive content calendar across channels Evaluates analytics to determine more effective strategy Monitors trends to identify best practices Additional Communications Responsibilities: Assists with proofreading and editing materials Assists with copywriting (for news, web, print, video, social content, and other projects) Contributes occasionally photography assignments Attends and participates in meetings to represent Gould and gather/present information The ideal candidate will have: Experience: 3+ years of experience in digital marketing and communications with increasing responsibilities related to content creation and strategy development Hands-on experience in carrying out online advertising, social media and email campaigns, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Google AdWords Advanced skills in copywriting and copyediting for web, news, social media, and marketing collateral Advanced skills in design and photo/video editing, using tools including Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro and Canva Experience with managing website content Adept at working on projects individually and collaboratively Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of the legal industry and/or fundraising Skills: Highly organized Detail oriented Ability to meet various deadlines Ability to balance short-term and long-term priorities Ability to think strategically, analytically to maximize process efficiencies and develop solutions Education: A graduate degree in marketing, communications, or a relevant field is preferred ATTENTION:   Applicants must upload a cover letter and a resume to be considered for this position.
