Austin, Texas, JOB SUMMARY: The Manager of Marketing and Communications is responsible for communications that pertain to group and individual members. This role is critical to achieving and maintaining quality performance in all member, broker, employer and provider communications and positioning the Health Plan effectively.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE: Strategizes and executes communication plans, campaigns and marketing collateral for all markets (group and off the Exchange, Medicare and Medicaid), including open enrollment. Develops and executes corporate branding and positioning of Health Plan announcements and messages, to group and individual members, employers, brokers and providers. Develops and executes social media strategies and web content. Manages communications (print, broadcast, outdoor, mail) and ROI tracking for sales campaigns. Manages events as needed, including broker-sponsored enrollment events, clinic and marketing support and sponsorship.   May manage staff, to include coaching and developing staff to build and maintain a highly competent and professional staff capable of delivering exceptional service that meets business requirements.   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Bachelor degree in business or communications-related field, including journalism, public relations or mass media preferred. Five or more years of experience in health insurance industry. Keen understanding of marketing guidelines established by Centers for Medicare & Medicare Service (CMS) and Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Experience with mass email platforms for digital marketing and internet and web communications. Strong writing and editing ability, consistent with AP Style. Understanding of multiple audiences within the industry, including member, employer, provider, and broker and consultant.
