East Lansing, Michigan, Working/Functional Title Marketing and Communications Associate Position Summary Position Description: The Marketing and Communications Associate, under the oversight of the Communications Manager II/S, assists in developing marketing and advertising strategies to promote awareness and compliance of business procedures to campus stakeholders and increase sales for revenue generating functions. The position is responsible for managing seven social media platforms, including content creation and analytics and also works with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective communications that support UPL and the MSU mission. Position Duties: Drafts and publishes content and layout for web, print materials, educational or promotional email campaigns, and social media platforms Acts as point person for writing copy, taking and editing photos, updating products for e-commerce platform, shop.msu.edu Develops training or promotional videos and photographs Collaborates with UPL staff, EVPA Communications, University Communications, college communicators and others to craft and amplify messaging Provides photography and videography for product promotion, training, and education on compliance related topics Represents the department at meetings or events Creates presentations and conducts training webinars Builds various surveys and reports findings Performs other marketing and general administrative duties in support of departmental activities Serves as a resource within UPL for communications knowledge and expertise Builds relationships with institutional clients in a proactive manner Creates social media campaigns and content as needed Develops and implements digital communication strategies to increase engagement and grow UPL’s online presence Creates and publishes engaging content across various digital channels, including social media, email marketing, and UPL’s website.
