Portland, Oregon, Position Number: D95345 Description: The School of Business at Portland State University seeks candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track position to teach 36 credit hours of marketing and/or business administration classes per academic year. Requirements for the position include (1) a Master’s degree in a relevant field, (2) recent, demonstrated excellence in teaching, (3) an interest in teaching in both traditional in-person as well as online modes, and (4) knowledge of contemporary media, marketing and advertising strategies and practices, including digital technologies. The position will also entail a limited amount of service activities to either the University, the School of Business or Marketing area. The preferred candidate will be someone who can enhance student learning and skills development by leveraging a successful industry track record and the ability to bring real world experience to the creation of successful marketing and/or advertising strategies. In addition, the School seeks candidates whose experience has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education. The position is on a 9-month contract (September to June), and starts on 9/16/2023. There may be the option to teach summer classes out of load if demand exists. The Bachelor of Business: Marketing degree program is one of the five largest majors at PSU , and annually graduates about 200 students. The program prepares students for a broad range of marketing careers including account management, digital marketing, market management, marketing research and analytics, professional selling and strategic market planning. The Bachelor of Business: Advertising Management degree program at PSU annually graduates about 75 students, many of whom pursue careers in account management, media strategy and account planning/strategy. The program partners with the Communication department and the Graphic Design program to offer minors in advertising management.
