New York, The Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY), the membership organization representing New York State physicians, is seeking a Director of Membership and Marketing to join our team dedicated to make a difference through physician and patient healthcare reform. 
 
The Director of Membership and Marketing is responsible for recruiting, retaining, and engaging physician members, including developing and executing the organization’s membership strategy and operations.  As Director, you should possess an inquisitive and creative mind, experience in sales and marketing, a collaborative and team-oriented leadership style, and an ability to hire, train and manage staff.  We are in the process of developing a new website and membership database. 
 
Responsibilities:  As Director, you will be responsible to develop and execute the organization’s overall membership strategy, including:

Create and deliver effective membership sales and marketing programs.
Identify, secure and promote member benefits.
Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels, including social media, e-mail, earned media and advertisements.
Establish analytics to understand the effectiveness of MSSNY’s sales and marketing activity to help shape future outreach strategies.
Speak and present to small and large groups to promote MSSNY.
Achieve financial objectives for membership including preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
Recruit, select, train, and manage employees, emphasizing a team approach.
Ensure timely billing of physician members and resolution of membership questions and problems.
Review and recommend needed changes to MSSNY billing IT system.

Bachelor’s Degree
Well-versed in sales and marketing principles and tactics to deliver effective initiatives to help MSSNY membership grow, including experience in:

Product advertising and e-marketing, as well as website, social media and email content development, optimization and analytics;
IT systems management; and
Events planning.

Strong organization and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Management experience including hiring, training and supervising staff.
Passion to make a difference and have fun doing it.
