Wormleysburg, Pennsylvania, Harrisburg Academy is seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications. As the lead brand ambassador, a successful candidate will be responsible for furthering the school’s strategic goals, particularly related to admission and development, by creating and executing an annual marketing and communications plan. Responsibilities Develop an annual marketing and communications strategy to further the goals of raising the school’s profile and advancing strategic objectives Develop a cohesive and compelling narrative that communicates Harrisburg Academy’s vision and the ongoing efforts to realize it Coordinate across multiple departments to ensure that messages reach key audiences through appropriate channels, including but not limited to current families, prospective families, students, alumni, faculty and staff, and others Support communications needed by the Office of Development and Alumni Relations including all gala materials, annual report, and alumni magazine. Oversee the school’s media and public relations efforts to promote awareness of the school, its programs, events, and accomplishments of community members Manage the school’s website, publications, and social media Enforce brand standards for content, design, digital media, and merchandising. Manage crisis communications as necessary Serve as a thought partner on the leadership team and with other key stakeholders around industry trends related to communications and marketing, with a special focus on the independent school market Serve as primary graphic designer for all assets Manage a budget that maximizes strategic use of resources Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing & Communications, or related field Master’s preferred Prior experience valued Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Program Strong writing, editing, and verbal communications skills Marketing project management experience, including print production, marketing and advertising campaigns, branding, broadcast email, and social media Experience with AP style Experience with data analytics and metrics Knowledge of search engine marketing and search engine optimization Experience with Blackbaud’s K-12 School Information System and Website Experience working in an independent school is a plus Harrisburg Academy does not discriminate in employment opportunities or practices on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability and familial affiliation, or any other characteristic protected by law.
