Development Chemist

Development Chemist Up to 40,000 DOE North West Lancashire Are you an experienced and passionate Development Chemist, looking for a new role in the Consumer Goods industry? I am working on behalf of a leading Household and Personal Care manufacturer, who have experienced significant growth over the past few years. They’re now looking for a Development Chemist to join the team, working closely with other Chemists to formulate new and existing products and manage daily activities within the lab. Key Duties: Opportunity to lead and manage daily activities of the Development Chemist team. Implementing and monitoring laboratory systems for samples, batch cards and external testing and services. Remaining up to date with current trends within Household, Personal Care & Cosmetic industries, and having a sound knowledge of new ingredients. Developing new and existing formulations in response to market demand. Preparing and dispatching of test and trial samples. Attending NPD meetings to manage risks, issues and develop workstream plans with the team. Liaising with manufacturing in relation to manufacture / scale up of new products and assist with formulation bulk issues when required including efficiency improvements. Carrying out COSHH assessments on all chemicals and maintain appropriate records. Preparing documents and compile the Product Information File for development products. Reviewing product artwork for compliance with regulations and claims Key Requirements: A passion for the industry A degree in Chemistry or similar 3-4 years laboratory experience in an FMCG industry Compliant with Health, Safety and Environmental Policies Experience of working in Quality Strong Microsoft Office skills Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with internal and external individuals at all levels Excellent attention to detail Organisation and time management skills Experience of dealing with suppliers
