New York, New York, SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Fulfill Tihany Design’s communications strategy and execution, including public relations and social media outreach, to increase visibility, elevate the firm’s distinctive voice and presence in the marketplace, and effectively promote TD to traditional, digital & social media and potential influencers, with direction & guidance from TD’s Senior Communications Advisor in tandem with the firm’s partners .                                
Maximize editorial opportunities and awareness of the firm’s projects and expertise.  Execute strategies as follows:

Collaborate with Senior Communications Advisor to develop polished content, topics, effective messaging & compelling story angles as basis of campaigns, to generate publicity.
Write and distribute news releases to target media markets.
Update and draft company press materials, including company fact sheet, backgrounders, press releases, bios, Q&As, etc.
Maintain and update TD’s master list of target media, in tandem with Senior Communications Advisor.
Press outreach: routinely liaise with journalists (freelance and staff) associated with all media formats; establish and maintain productive, professional relationships with consumer and trade press.
Pursue best practices regarding media/deskside visits, journalist entertainment, information requests, and cultivation of new contacts, with support/guidance of Senior Communications Advisor.
Press fulfillment: efficiently service requests for information, commentary and images.
Vet, present and facilitate media interview opportunities for TD partners as they relate to specific projects, industry trends and professional insights.
Draft Tihany Design project design briefs.
Manage Tihany Design’s Content Archive of communications, Q&A’s, narratives and summaries, as an ever-evolving resource for reference and utilization, to consistently reinforce the brand.
Produce, schedule and monitor stories across TD’s social media platforms; execute TD’s social media calendar and growth strategy to expand reach/awareness and increase engagement. Familiarity with analytics for benchmarking.
Build carefully curated list of key industry influences, with whom to explore collaborations.
Assist Partners in PowerPoint presentations and compositions.
Manage Tihany Design’s comms resources, including press materials, editorial coverage (press clippings), digital and visual assets, including photography, logos, etc.
Assist in updating Tihany Design’s website as necessary, including completed projects and content.
Establish and maintain positive relations with staff designers
Coordinate photo and film shoots with various clients.
Create simple, monthly internal news digest to share industry articles of interest and Tihany Design PR highlights (i.e., editorial/ social recognition).
Manage Tihany Design’s industry awards strategy, to monitor opportunities for participation in optimal programs. The same applies to review of select industry forums/conferences/webinars for partner participation.
Special projects and tasks as required.
CANDIDATE PROFILE ~ QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree and educational background in communications, PR, journalism, marketing or related field of study.
Minimum 3-5 years prior experience in public relations, content strategy, editorial, communications, digital & social media.
Familiarity with hospitality, lifestyle, design, luxury goods or fashion-related fields is preferred.
Excellent written, and verbal communication skills, applicable to a variety of projects, as well as presentation skills. Knowledge of AP-style journalistic writing and editing practices.
Self-starter with attention to detail, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, able to work independently and collaboratively.
Results-oriented; manage multiple projects & deadlines with timely follow-up and completion; ability to diplomatically prioritize requests, resourceful problem-solving capabilities.
Pragmatic, entrepreneurial and flexible in nature.
Able to follow established processes and procedures, while working fluidly in situations where standard protocols do not exist.
Creative instinct with disposition to ideate; passionate about interior design.
Enthusiasm for professional development and long-term growth with Tihany Design; champion of its current and future projects.
Proficiency in range of computer applications including Microsoft Office, DropBox, social media platforms, media research programs such as Cision, Muck Rack, etc. Adobe Photoshop or InDesign helpful for creating/formatting digital assets. Familiarity with/ability to learn contact management systems.
Ability to work with Tihany Design’s geographically dispersed team.
