Your Opportunity We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Business Intelligence Data Analyst. This is a fantastic opportunity to help deliver insight and analysis across a global FTSE 100 company, and gain great experience across a plethora of datasets and technologies in the education sector. The role will sit within a friendly, experienced and established Business Intelligence team, and full support and training will be given – we believe in nurturing talent so it can flourish. Our Team The Business Intelligence (BI) team plays a key role in delivering a wide range of analytical support including operational data, commercial analysis and reporting, product analytics and learner data analytics. All the BI team engage in data extraction and the servicing of day to day data needs across the business. In addition, the team supports and builds dashboards using our Data Warehouse and other source data to deliver high quality BI and robust analysis. The range of analytics is considerable – including commercial and market data, operational data, product data and learner data. Hence the role provides a fantastic opportunity to develop a broad-based experience. We are cultivating a data driven culture in Pearson UK, and this team has helped shift the business to a new standard of analysis and reporting. This means that all members of the team have to be proactive and motivated to unpack complex problems or requirements to deliver outstanding analysis/insights. Key Responsibilities: Support UK business units spanning customers across Schools, Colleges, Universities, Skills Providers and Learners; Develop a detailed understanding of Pearson customers, products and learners to inform any data analytics; Respond to ad hoc data queries and bespoke segmented contact list requests from business units with timely, accurate, and reliable data; Provide insight and analysis as required by senior members of the team or other stakeholders; Design and build dashboards to support product, sales, marketing, operations in all divisions; Build relationships with key stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate these into viable reports; Gather requirements from stakeholders and turn these into wireframes and reporting tools as required under the direction of senior team members; Be an active team member and support colleagues in their work; Work with colleagues across the business to standardise data attributes and establish consistency across data sources; Produce regular data reports and dashboards to inform decision making; To learn appropriate software skills, including SQL, SSRS, Alteryx, Google Analytics, BigQuery, Salesforce and Tableau to build dashboards and reporting environments.
