knoxville, Tennessee, Assistant Producer, Office of Communications and Marketing – Video Production Regular, Full-time – MR07 The Office of Communications and Marketing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, seeks applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Producer. The Assistant Producer serves on the Video Production team and assists other producers and staff in creating videos (primarily distributed on the web) that focus on a wide range of visual communications including: recruiting prospective students to the university (or a specific college or department), generating awareness for a campus-wide initiative, engaging alumni, and informing our local, statewide and national community about academic successes and impactful research. We craft audience-focused communications based on data, best-practices, and emerging trends. The division employs more than 50 full-time professionals across several cross-functional teams–Creative, Digital, Marketing, News, Special Events, Video, and WUOT 91.9FM. Duties/Responsibilities Assists in planning and executing high quality video productions including: research, writing, shooting and editing. Operates video cameras, as well as audio and lighting equipment, in field and studio production. Edits audio/video footage on computer editing systems. Creates on-screen video graphics and text. Assumes creative control on some projects. Manages smaller scale video projects from concept to completion, typically those intended for social media distribution. Communicates directly with clients across campus. Collaborates with other Communications & Marketing team members on projects. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Basic knowledge of video editing systems Basic videography, audio, and lighting skills Ability to learn new software Beginning organizational skills Interacts appropriately with clients and office staff Works well independently and as part of a group Receptive to feedback and constructive criticism Self-motivated and assertive Builds and maintains good client relationships Acts professionally and represents the office in interactions with clients Preferred: Ability to operate various types of video cameras including HDSLR and documentary-style motion picture cameras Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite software Ability to use non-linear editing software (Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut, etc.)
