Allendale, Michigan, Summary: Perform duties related to developing a comprehensive external plan that maximizes ticket revenue, attendance, fan engagement, game experience and brand awareness for 22 varsity sports with an emphasis on football, volleyball, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball programs.
Responsibilities – Essential Functions:

Marketing :

Manage marketing office: maintain and create marketing opportunities

Manage and effectively use marketing assets
Create advertising assets that will maximize ticket sales

Implement social media initiatives to increase attendance and/or ticket sales in collaboration with the communications office.
Assist corporate partnerships with the activation and fulfillment of sponsorships.

Game Day Experience:

Oversee all Game Day presentation and promotions coordination:

Main contact for football/ MBB/WBB coordinate/call Game day (video board/music)

Supervise all in-game and special event promotions including planning, design, and execution of game day promotional activities: which include the writing and organization of game day and public address scripts, in-game music, national anthem, and videoboard activations.
Assist with corporate sponsor production activities

Fan Engagement :

Serve as liaison for corporate partners at student orientations.
Develop and implement special fan & community events (i.e. theme nights, fan fest, watch parties, etc.)
Social media: game/event promotional elements that drive student/fan engagement. (T-shirt giveaway, Rally at the Valley)

Leadership:

Responsible for the hiring and training of student marketing internship program and graduate assistant.
Serve as liaison for all student spirit groups (GVSU Laker Marching Band, Cheerleaders, and Dance Team)
Liaison with all marketing and promotions external vendors.
Provide management support including the development and maintenance of the departmental budget, unit and marketing plans, fostering collegial working relationships with university administration and student services departments.

Carry out other duties assigned by the Associate AD Revenue & Fan Development.
Required Qualifications and Education:

Bachelor’s degree.
A minimum of two years of experience.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, handle multiple demands efficiently, think ahead, anticipate issues, and successfully work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Possess excellent attention to detail, grammar and proofreading skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, coordinate large projects or events.
Must be available some nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

Master’s Degree
Two years of experience in NCAA athletic marketing.
Supervisory experience.
