About the Company
How do you say “small footprint” in Norwegian? Apparently, it’s Birdstep Technology. The company develops database software for storing large quantities of data in very small spaces on PDAs and other handheld devices. The company also offers wireless software that allows users to maintain a network connection while moving among physical locations, as well as embedded database applications. Its customers include 3Com, PCTel, Telenor, and Connect One. It operates through three business segments: Birdstep Technology; Orbyte (network management); and Raima (high performance embedded databases). Birdstep was founded in 1996.
