Northland Power Inc
About the Company
Northland Power is looking to supply cleaner and greener power to Canada and beyond. The company owns and operates revenue-producing thermal and wind power generation facilities mainly in the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Qubec, and Saskatchewan, but also in the US and Germany. Together, they generate 1,349 MW of electricity. Attempting to expand geographically and build capacity, the company also has a portfolio of hydro, solar, thermal, and wind projects in various stages of development. It typically pursues projects that are supported by long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs). In 2014 Northland Power acquired controlling stakes in three North Sea offshore wind farms from RWE Innogy.
